Nurse Angel Ririka SOS is commonly known because of its TV anime version. This manga version was written by Akimoto Yasushi and drawn by Ikeno Koi. It ran in the shoujo manga magazine "Ribon" between 1995 and 1996, making 4 collected volumes (tankoubon).

This manga belongs to the cathegory called "Magical Girls", which usually means: average young girl with talking pet gets powers and saves the day ;) Ririka is an average student that can, in fact, transform into "Nurse Angel" by using a special nurse-like hat given to her by her senpai Kanou (who is, in fact, from another dimension/world connected to this one). Ririka's fellow classmate and neighbor is Seiya, who follows her and helps her as much as he can. Aside beating evil monsters, Ririka can heal people too (hence the name ^^ ).

While it doesn't deviate too much from the usual magical girl story-line, it does provide several twists around the way, and I, personally, love the character of Seiya. ^^
