Synopsis

All synopsis are by Zahara Medina, and cannot be used anywhere else without her permission. As she is just a student of Japanese, any help, comments or corrections are more than welcome! ^^;
Please, go to the Image Gallery to see the covers in full! ^^
(And remember to buy these tankobon if you like the summaries, it's the best way of thanking the authors and the synopsis are nothing compared to the real thing! ^^ )

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 39 (Nov'2003) [ vol.07 ]

Kyouko's plan is simple, and it's to act as if she were a fan of Shou and act very un-Kyouko-like, even calling him by a nickname. Shou is taken aback by this and starts to think he might have been mistaken about thinking she is the Kyouko he knows (Kyouko's demons keep trying to sneak on him, though... it's really hard on her to keep up the pretense of liking him... ^^; ).
A long black haired girl appears and attaches herself to Shou, she is Mimori, Shou's chosen replacement for Kotonami and also Kyouko's classmate who was mean to her for no reason! Kyouko uses her demons to intimidate Mimori not to tell Shou her family name... (^^; )
Shou's producer (who Kyouko always thought was a man because of her male-sounding name, but turns out to be a woman of the type Shou prefers) explains them the concept for the video: A devil (Shou) meets two good natured angels and falls in love with one of them, however the other angel... Kyouko automatically offers to do the job of the "devil-killer angel." (^^;; )
At lunch time, Mimori has prepared a lunch box for Shou, and Kyouko draws comparisons between her and how she used to be. Kyouko notices the box has fried egg roll (which is sweet) and she knows he hates sweet things like that. She sees him eyeing the trash box near him and gets mad because he should eat it even if he doesn't like it because Mimori put so much effort on it, so she passes the salt that came with her store-made lunch box to him. Shou is extremely surprised at this.

Chapter 40 (Nov'2003) [ vol.07 ]

As he is fitted into the very cool demon outfit, Shou ponders further about Kyouko. Then he sees a swan-shaped bottle and seems to have an idea.
On her part, Kyouko abandons her pessimistic thoughts about her having messed up because of the salt for watching enthusiastically how make-up is applied to Mimori. Mimori gets mad at her staring and because Kyouko is just staring because she can't wait for her turn to be "turned beautiful." Mimori assures Kyouko no matter how much make-up she puts on, she won't get Shou's heart because she is not his type. Kyouko nods happily, she knows, Mimori is just Shou's type (big breasts ^^; (*)).
Mimori keeps thinking she can't figure out Kyouko, and then thinking back into their encounters, she realizes Kyouko didn't want her to say her full name.

Shou appears and tries to push Kyouko into revealing herself, but Mimori saves her at the last second (she can't stand him being so close to her... ^^; ). But Shou uses his ace in the sleeve and suggests they use the swan-shaped cosmetics... Kyouko recognizes it as a bottle she saw on a shop but didn't get because she didn't want to spend the money in non-Shou needs. The make-up woman comments on it because it's a famous brand and silly Kyouko yells the name Odette along with Shou (the name is actually Royal Snow, but that's what reminded Kyouko of). The gig is up. (^^; )

On his job, Ren's manager talks to him about Kyouko and suggests he likes Kyouko (romantically), but Ren denies it. Manager is not convinced.

Mimori's make-up and costuming is complete, and she is a very cute angel (Shou specially likes how well the breasts look in the dress....). In flashback we see that Kyouko told Shou and his manager that she is indeed that Kyouko.
Back to the present, Shou and Mimori are talking some more when the staff around them starts to fall silent and point at something. Mimori is surprised but not as much as Shou, who clearly can't believe his eyes. It's Kyouko in costume. As she smiles ready to fight, she thinks that she has come this far and she won't run away from Shou or his threats.

(* - Japan uses a different bra cup sizing system than US or Europe. Their cups are smaller than the western counterpart. Therefore even though you often see things like E-cup or D-cup, they are actually smaller than what you would think (and that's how so many flat-chested looking girls suddenly have Cs ^^; )).

Chapter 41 (Dec'2003) [ vol.07 ]

(beta version)

The video shoot starts and Mimori acts very unprofessionally and throws a tantrum because she says she hates Kyouko and doesn't want to work with her. Kyouko tells Shou to fix the problem but it's at the end she who manages to make Mimori "work." The shoot continues and Kyouko does really well. Shou realizes this is not the same Kyouko he thought he knew, while his producer seems to see something in Kyouko and warns Shou that if he is not careful she might upstage him.
