TAJIMA Mimi is a relatively new author. Her first hit-series was Koi Surui 1/4 (10 volumes) in the out-two-times-per-month shoujo manga magazine Margaret (known in these lands for series such as "Hana Yori Dango" or "Bronze" ;).

Her stories center around typical high-school student's love adventures, but her characters are so fleshed-out and real that it's like reading/seeing the genre from a whole new light. The art style in her earlier works might surprise some people from time to time as her side shots of heads tended to be quite... long (^^; ). But, trust me, it's not hard to get used to it and by the end of vol. 1 of Koi Suru you won't see them at all! Just pass through the image gallery to see pictures and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Rest assured, this mangaka is very much worth checking out and you won't be dissapointed, even though Koisuru tended to drag a little too much in the last volumes.... ^^;; (Did I already mention how cool some of her guys are? ^.^ )
