Synopsis

These synopsis are done by Zahara Medina and can't be used anywhere else without her consent. As she is just a student of Japanese, there are bound to be mistakes. If you spot any mistake, please report it to me, thanks! :) (comments are also appreciated....)
(And remember to buy these tankobon if you like the summaries, it's the best way of thanking the authors and the synopsis are nothing compared to the real thing! ^^ )

Note: B/w scans are from the magazine, where the print is in low quality paper and different ink colors so it sometimes scans pretty bad and leaves lots of noise in the picture. The tankoubon quality is, of course, much better (perfect, that is).

Chapter 25 (Aug'2003) [ vol.04 ]

Note: Dark haired Hanzou (our main character in this story) = Hanzou. Blonde Hanzou (main character of Tsuki no Toiki, Ai no Kizu) = Hanzou II.
Hanzou Sr. = Blonde Hanzou's father.

As it turns out, it wasn't Hanzou but Usagi's granddad. Also, as it turns out, the mountain elder is their ancestor. Usagi wants him to return home with the rest of them and cries because she doesn't want him to be lonely all alone in the mountain. The old man tells her that he wants to stay there watching over the land and that he has the bear as company. He tells Usagi that she resembles his mother very much and that he was happy because he felt his mother had come back to visit him. He asks Usagi to come visit him after she has had children. Usagi promises.
Before they leave, it is decided to change the name of the mountain from "Mountain of Death" to "Mountain of Life."

On their way back, Yuuna (Yuuri's twin sister) appears and takes Yuuri back for a job (her first job as a ninja). Usagi realizes that since Hanzou's chosen girl is not Yuuna nor Yuuri, that only leaves her! She insists in going to visit Hanzou on their way back to Ieyasu's (but they are in opposite directions so... ^^;; ).
Of course the moment she leaves (with Mamezou and Yukimaru, Goemon was given another mission), Hanzou himself appears! But he decides against catching up with Usagi since he only wanted to make sure she was all right.

Two days later, Usagi and co. are still on their way to the castle. Usagi is very tired but she insists on going since she is very eager to ask Ieyasu to relieve her from her job so she can go back to Hanzou. Yukimaru wonders if Usagi will tell Ieyasu about him burning the medicine, but Usagi says she won't and after all it's like the old man said, it's better if that medicine doesn't exist anymore. However, Usagi is a bit worried.

After they arrive to the castle, Usagi gives Ieyasu the medicine for better procreation (^^; ) she got from the old man, and tells Ieyasu what the old man told her, that this medicine is for eternal life since it will help children being born and will ensure life goes on and the memories of dead people will pass down with each generation. Hanzou Sr. is impressed, but although Ieyasu understands that, he is clear in telling Usagi that it's not what he asked for. He wanted a medicine for eternal youth/health and this is not, so Usagi can't return home.

Chapter 26 (Sep'2003) [ vol.04 ]

Note: Dark haired Hanzou (our main character in this story) = Hanzou. Blonde Hanzou (main character of Tsuki no Toiki, Ai no Kizu) = Hanzou II.
Hanzou Sr. = Blonde Hanzou's father.

Yukimaru begs Ieyasu and tells him he burnt the medicine. Between him and Usagi they try the ninja trick the old man did with Goemon, but Ieyasu laughs and says he has decided to invest his life in building a good country. Hanzou Sr. is extremely happy at this. Ieyasu tells Usagi she can return home. Yukimaru tells Ieyasu he has decided to go to the west to study and leaves them a book he has done with plant properties and drawings so they will still have his expertise in medicine. Ieyasu allows him to go.
Yukimaru and Usagi say their goodbyes and Usagi tells him to help a lot of people. Yukimaru gives Usagi a letter for his mother and "family" and after she and Mamezou leave, he cuts his ponytail and promises that the next time they meet, he will have turned into a man that can declare his feelings.
Hanzou Sr. gives Usagi a bag of money. Usagi is worried because she still thinks Ieyasu is poor (^^;; ) but Hanzou Sr. tells her not to worry and that thanks to her Ieyasu will now go on to bigger... Usagi is no longer listening. (^^; )

Seven days later at Hanzou's keep, both young Hanzou receive a letter from Ieyasu and they realize Usagi was supposed to have arrived there already! Hanzou wonders where the hell she went.
She went to deliver Yukimaru's letter and got stuck by all the brothel girls who insisted in feeding her as a return for helping to deliver safely Yukimaru's little sibling.
Eventually she manages to leave the place, but while she is looking for a present for Hanzou her bag of money is stolen! She runs after the thief, but it's a handsome stranger who stops the man. He has golden hair and sea-blue eyes and calls Usagi his "angel."

Chapter 27 (Sep'2003) [ vol.04 ]

Note: Dark haired Hanzou (our main character in this story) = Hanzou. Blonde Hanzou (main character of Tsuki no Toiki, Ai no Kizu) = Hanzou II.
Hanzou Sr. = Blonde Hanzou's father.

Usagi is scared of the newcomer because when she was little her granddad told her demons with blue eyes and gold hair came to eat bad children. She realizes nobody else is scared of this "demon" and the man (called Hikaru) proceeds to demonstrate his circus talents, jumps to the roof of the building, and makes flowers rain down onto the admiring girls looking up at him. One of the girls tells Usagi Hikaru is a famous acrobat with foreign blood in him. He's also got a monkey.
Hikaru ignores the other girls and goes to Usagi, who is really impressed by his performance. She gives him food as thanks... (^^;; ). In the process she spots his clean robe and he seems to get really mad. He drags her to a clothes shop and Usagi has to pay for his new yukata (and the monkey's too ^^; ). Hikaru convinces Usagi to try on a kimono, including a hair extension. They all say she looks very pretty and cute and Usagi wonders if Hanzou would think the same. This reminds her that she still has to get souvenirs for Hanzou and she stampedes out of the shop. However the monkey suddenly seems to fall really sick, so she stays and tries to help him. Hikaru leaves him in her care and leaves. As she tries to tell him that she wants to go home, someone calls her name... Hanzou!

Hanzou embraces her and Usagi cries from happiness. The monkey seems to have suddenly recovered and sits on Usagi's head, making Hanzou realize what's going on. He asks Usagi when she became a clown and she says she bought the kimono herself, so she could be a little more pre... Hanzou cuts in and says it's in really bad taste, and to go return it right away. Usagi is shocked, and Hanzou gets even angrier when he learns she got it with the money Ieyasu gave her. Over the roof of the shops, Hikaru is insulted by Hanzou's declaration about his taste.
He is also not very happy that Hanzou's reputation of being the best man on the land seems to be right... although of course, he himself is sooo much pretty, really (he says as he looks at a hand mirror). Hikaru then leaves after giving a signal to his monkey.

At the kimono shop, Usagi is depressed, but Hanzou tells her that he thinks she already looks cute the way she always is. Usagi's spirits soar right up (^^; ). However, Usagi then realizes Hanzou is asking to see fabrics in cherry blossoms colors for women's kimono and gets depressed again thinking it's for "Hanzou's chosen woman."
But to her great surprise, Hanzou gives her the kimono as a reward for all her hard work, and tells her to wear it in important occasions. Usagi is really, really happy at this and starts to cry, leaving poor Hanzou at a loss of what he did "wrong" (^^).
P.S.- Usagi is still carrying along the "Hanzou huggy pillow"... (^^;;;)

Chapter 28 (Oct'2003) [ vol.04 ]

Note: Dark haired Hanzou (our main character in this story) = Hanzou. Blonde Hanzou (main character of Tsuki no Toiki, Ai no Kizu) = Hanzou II.
Hanzou Sr. = Blonde Hanzou's father.

Usagi and Hanzou return home and after a small romantic interlude, Hanzou tells Usagi she doesn't need her "Hanzou huggy pillow" anymore because she has him. They hug and Usagi feels his hands on her and believes this is the famous "making out" thing Yuuri told her about! In fact Hanzou is just realizing that Usagi has gotten a bit too chubby. After testing her strength (inexistent), he tells her she has to become fit. Of course the first thing waiting for them when they arrive is a huge banquet (^^; ).

Usagi runs away in tears and Hanzou gets upset because he didn't want to make her cry. This romantic interlude is cut short by a ninja star. A beautiful woman appears and greets Hanzou as an old friend.
